She is a holder of a LLM degree (Cambridge Law School, UK) a LLM degree from Yale Law School and a PhD on medical information law and ethics from the University of Athens. She was appointed Faculty Fellow at Harvard University, Center for Ethics and the Professions (2000-2001). She has been a NATO/an Onassis/a Rotary/an IKY/a Clare Hall (Cambridge, UK) and a Harvard scholar. She is an elected Co-Director the International Society for Ethics and Technology (2014-2018). She has authored five books, the latest being ‘A Defense of Intellectual Property Rights’, 2009, Edward Elgar Publishing (with Professor Richard Spinello) and has edited eight volumes on information law/ethics e.tc. She is also the author of more than 80 Greek and international publications on computer and information law/ethics, data protection, digital divide, library ethics, privacy medical/health law and others. She is a EU expert called in missions in Europe and beyond. She is the founder of the International Conference on Information Law and Ethics (ICIL) series, from 2008 onwards, of the Athens Data Protection Colloquium (with Dr. Fereniki Panagopoulou-Koutnatzi) and of the Medical Responsibility and Ethics (MRBE) conference series (with Dr. Fereniki Panagopoulou-Koutnatzi). She has been the organizer or numerous symposiums, seminars, colloquiums e.tc. She has delivered more than sixty speeches, presentations, lectures in Greece and abroad. She is the Head of the Research Team ‘Information: History, Regulation and Culture’.

Position, academic & professional qualifications
Professor Steve Cornelius is Head of the Department Private Law since 1 October 2015 and holds the degrees BIuris LLB (Unisa) LLD (Pret). The title of his LLD thesis is “The Interpretation of Contracts In South African Law". He is admitted as Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
Academic & professional experience
He joined the Department of Private Law as Professor in 2010 after serving for eleven years in the Department of Private Law at the University of Johannesburg, where he was appointed as Senior Lecturer in 1999, promoted to Associate Professor in 2003 and to Professor in 2007. He was also Head of the Department of Private Law at UJ. Before that, he served for eleven years in the Department of Justice, briefly as a Public Prosecutor and mostly as a Legal Officer in the Branch: Legislation Research, where he played an important part in the drafting of regulations required for the functioning of the Human Rights Commission, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Special Investigating Unit.

Professor Pieter Duvenage (born 1963) has studied philosophy in South Africa (Stellenbosch, Pretoria and Port Elizabeth) and Germany (Göttingen and Frankfurt-am-Maine). He received his doctorate in 1994 from the University of Port Elizabeth (now Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University). After his first position as senior lecturer (1995) he has lectured philosophy from 1997 as an associate professor, full professor and visiting professor at various South African universities (Limpopo, UJ, NMMU) and two Australian universities with campuses in South Africa (Bond and Monash). On 1 October 2011 he became full professor and Head of the Department of Philosophy at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein (South Africa). He is the author and co-author of four books and almost 40 accredited articles in journals and books. He specialises in political and social philosophy within the traditions of Critical Theory, Phenomenology/Hermeneutics and South African Intellectual History. He is accredited as a researcher by the NRF (National Research Foundation) since 2003 and a member of the Akademie (Suid-Afrikaanse Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns) since 2002.

Charles Manga Fombad is Professor of law and heads the African Constitutional Law Unit at the Institute for International and Comparative Law (ICLA) of the Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria.
He is the author/editor of 9 books and has published more than 75 articles in local and international peer reviewed journals. He has also published more than two dozen book chapters as well as numerous other publications and conference papers. He has received several awards for his publications. Professor Fombad is a fellow of the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS) and an NRF B rated scholar.
Professor Fombad is a member of the editorial board of several international journals and a member of many professional associations. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the African Network of Constitutional Lawyers (ANCL), and convenor of its working group on Teaching of Constitutional law, and is a Vice President of the International Association of Constitutional Law (IACL) and a convenor of the research group on the constitutional dimensions of political parties and political rights.
His research interests are in comparative African constitutional law, media law, the African Union and legal history, especially issues of legal harmonisation.

Research Experience: As a Sr. Research Associate, I have been involved in a Research Project on “Police Leadership at SP and SHO Level” funded by Bureau of Police Research and Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and 3 major Internally funded (sponsored by O.P. Jindal Global University) Research Projects on ‘Understanding Motivation and Rationale behind Behavioural aspect of Digital Piracy in BRICS nation’; ‘Internet Infidelity in India’ and ‘Death Penalty in India.’ Conducted data collection (survey questionnaire, phone interview), data coding (performed logistic, regression, Anova, Correlation on SPSS and SAS), literature review (searched and reviewed articles) and writing for publication in a journal. Besides, I worked on a Research Project on ‘Women Directors on Company Boards in India’ with professor Alice de Jonge, Senior Lecturer, Monash University, Australia. Conducted detailed interviews with senior women directors currently serving on the board of listed Indian firm. For the research project on ‘Internet Infidelity’ and ‘Death penalty’, we have collected a data set of more than 15,000 respondents

Was appointed Project Coordinator of a government funded project on ‘Gender Resource Center’ and was directly involved in implementing various government schemes such as Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna (RSBY), Swarnjayanti Shehri Rozgar Yojna (SSRY), Annashree Yojna. These centers are strategically chosen by government authorities so that they are able to reach and benefit the most vulnerable sections of the society. Being an intermediary between the government and the citizens I have been provided with a well-rounded perspective of the two ends of the spectrum namely, policy making and policy implementation. I have also interned as a therapist at a government sponsored project on ‘Family Counselling Center.’

Sizwe Lindelo Snail ka Mtuze holds a Baccalareus Legum (LLB) from the University of Pretoria with Tax Law and Cyber-Law electives. He has also just finalized his (LLM) thesis at the University of South Africa. He is a practising attorney with the law firm, Snail Attorneys at Law and International Co-ordinator of the African Centre for Cyberlaw and Crime Prevention based in Kampala, Uganda.
He is the author of various articles on Cyberlaw in accredited and non- accredited journals both locally and internationally and has given ad hoc lectures for the LSSA, ACFE , University of Johannesburg, Fort Hare University and University of Pretoria and comments on Cyberlaw in various South African Newspapers and radio talk shows.
He also presents papers and attends both local and international conferences. He is also co-editor and author of the 3rd Edition of Cyberlaw @ SA. He also does corporate presentations, regularly gives opinions to both the private and government sectors as well as individualized legal compliance testing as well as in-house workshops / training for various private companies and government institutions both in South Africa and in Central, West and East Africa.
Sizwe Snail KA Mtuze was a member on the ICT REVIEW Panel of the Department of Telecommunications & Postal Services (DTPS), serving as a Chair of the E-commerce Committee ( Digital Society as renamed ) within the Panel sub-committees. Sizwe Snail Ka Mtuze also currently serves on the National Cyber Security advisory Counsel of the DPTS.

Sylvia Papadopoulos is a permanent full-time lecturer in the Department of Mercantile Law. She holds the degrees of BLC, LLB and LLM (cum laude) from the University of Pretoria. She has also been admitted as an advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
Academic & professional experience
After graduating with an LLB degree from the University of Pretoria, she joined the Department of Land Affairs as a Legal Researcher in the Restitution of Land Division, researching and validating restitution land claims. In 2003 she taught at the Damelin School of Banking and in 2004 she joined the Department of Mercantile Law, University of Pretoria as a part-time temporary lecturer at the Mamelodi campus. In 2008 she was appointed as a permanent full-time lecturer in the Department. She continues to consult on a part-time basis in construction contract related matters.
Teaching activities
She teaches Advanced Cyber Law (KUB 802) on the LLM programme, Cyber Law (KUB 420) and the Law of Negotiable Instruments (VHD 320) on the LLB programme, IT Law (KUB 720) on the BCom(Hons) Informatics programme and Business Law (BER 210) in the Economics and Management Faculty.

Theophano Papazissi is an emerita professor of the Faculty of Law, of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki since 2013.
She use to be an Advocate at the Supreme Court since 2012.
She is born in Thessaloniki. She completed her studies at the Faculty of Law in Thessaloniki with the note first degree honor (“excellent”) and she received her P. H. D. degree in Civil Law in the same Faculty with the same degree.
She received a scholarship from Germany and she went to Kolonia. She completed also her studies at the Department of French Langue, of the Faculty of Letters. She use to teach almost the whole Civil Law, the Medical responsibility, medically assisted procreation, Bioethics and Gender and Human Rights issues. Except Civil Law she also does research in contemporary sectors, like gender, equality and sexual orientation issues.
She use to be member of Amnesty International, of the European Interdisciplinary Network in Bioethics, President of the Center for Rehabilitation of Victims of Torture and other Abuses in Thessaloniki and many others.
She use to be member of the teacher’s staff of the National Magistrate School of Thessaloniki from the beginning and during a decade, also at the Police Academy in Northern Greece she teaches issues of trafficking, family violence and elements of Civil Law.
She participates in many conferences on these issues. Her mother language is Greek but she is fluent in French, German and good in English and sufficient Italian language.
Actually She is the Chef of the Board of an historical Orphanage called MELISSA and at the last months of the local station of the Public Radiotelevion ERT3.

Before joining UWM Shana was a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Informatics at the University of Pretoria. She also worked as practitioner in industry as an IT consultant with Andersen and KPMG Consulting advising various organizations located in Africa on management information systems and for a major financial institution. Her research focuses on empowerment of people to enble them to make informed decisions to develop themselves, their organizations, their communities and society as a whole. Specific research interests include information seeking behavior and use, access to and accessibility of information and adoption of ICT infrastructure, ethical considerations relating to access, particularly as it pertains to developing contexts. Her work has been published in Aslib Proceedings, Information Development, Journal of Information Ethics, South African Journal of Information Management and The International Information & Library Review, amongst others. She is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and the Africa Network for Information Ethics and on the editorial board of the International Journal of Business Intelligence Research. Position, academic, qualifications
Rashri Baboolal-Frank joined the Department as a lecturer in February 2014. She completed her articles of clerkship at S. Morgan and Associates. Thereafter she practised as an attorney at Von Lieres, Cooper, Barlow and Hangone Attorneys in the litigation department and specialised in Sectional Titles Law. In 2013 she lectured at Cape Peninsula University of Technology in various subjects namely Commercial law 2, Advanced Law, Labour Law and Small Business Practice Management. She holds an LLB from University of KwaZulu-Natal and also obtained a master’s degree in commercial law (public law) from the University of Cape Town. The title of her thesis was “The status of prostitutes in South Africa: problems and reforms”. In 2014 she completed an Advanced Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution cum laude from AFSA in affiliation with the University of Pretoria. She has been appointed by AFSA on the General Commercial and Mediation Panel.
She is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa of the Law Society of the Western Cape with her High Court right of appearance. Currently she is registered to read for her doctorate at the University of Pretoria.
Teaching activities
Rashri teaches Civil Procedure (SIP410 and 420), Legal Practice (RPK320), Alternative Dispute Resolution (AGF 420) for the LLB and lectures in the LLM in Civil Procedure. She is also involved in e-learning with CE@UP in launching an e-course related to her area of interest.

Dr. Sanjeev P Sahni is a Principal Director of the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS) at the Jindal Global University, Sonipat. He is also the Director for “Center for Innovative Leadership and Change”, “Center for Victimology and Psychological studies”, Member of the Governing Body and Advisor to the Vice Chancellor at the Jindal Global University.
Prior to his joining O P Jindal Global University Dr. Sahni was Head – Education with Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL), part of USD 15 billion O.P. Jindal Group. He holds a PhD in Organizational Behaviour and a Post Graduate degree in Psychology with specialization in Industrial Psychology from Punjab University, Chandigarh. He has an extensive industry/government background of 27 years of experience in the field of human resources and behavioral management. He was responsible for all matters relating to human resources including Talent Management, Development, Retention, Education and Learning for the Group.
He has dedicated 14 years as a scientist in Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) and Sports Authority of India (SAI) where he conducted Biofeedback Training, Autogenic and progressive relaxation and other psychodynamic assessments to foster and enhance the performance of sportsmen.
In his last eight years in JSPL, he has served in various capacities like Head – Corporate HR, Head – Strategic HR and has been instrumental in revamping HR practices in the organization. He is well versed on global human resources policies, systems and processes and has been responsible in leading and steering the human resources function during the growth phase of Jindal Steel and Power Limited. He believes that while retaining focus on staff development, the human resources should provide pro-active leadership to meet changing global business challenges. Under his leadership and guidance, JSPL has won various awards in HR like RASBIC “HR Leadership Award”, SAIL HR Award for “Excellence in Human Resource Management”. JSPL was also rated amongst the top 20 “Best Companies to Work for in India” by Business Today and Mercer.
After successfully leading the HR functions of the organization for four years, in 2010 he was entrusted with another challenging role of Head – Education. He was managing various educational institutes run by JSPL, which includes O P Jindal Global University (OPJGU), Jindal Institute of Technology (OPJIT), Jindal Institute of Power Technology (JIPT), four Community Colleges of Technology and Skills (OPJCCTS), three Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), Medical College, Physiotherapy courses and ten schools. Dr. Sahni also worked as Co-Project Director of the Montgomery College, India initiative, “Transforming Boundaries funded by US State Department and USIEF”.
His contribution across the globe has been cosmic. He has worked as a research scientist at several universities like University of Houston, Texas, University of Illinois, Chicago to name a few. With a perfect blend of academics and industry exposure, he has been invited by several institutes in over 30 countries. He has also served as a secretary to Indian Association of Sports Medicine and Sports Psychology Association of India.
He has authored, co-authored, edited and reviewed many books and research papers such as a Handbook of Sports Psychology, Perceptual Organization of Criminals, Performance Enhancement of Sportsmen, Stress Management etc. He has delivered lectures and keynote addresses at various institutes in India and abroad and has published numerous research papers in various national and international journals of repute. He is also awarded with fellowship for Indian Association of Sports Medicine, Sports Psychology Association of India and Indian Council of Medical Research.
Dr. Sahni is one of the few Indian psychologists to have dispensed his immense knowledge towards the development of society and nation.
